Jayalalitha is not just another (overweight) politician, if you had that silly notion. Ammmaaa is also a part time nuclear weapons expert, whenever she gets time from being a Puratchi Thalaivar(Tamil: Revolutionary leader).
Puratchi Thalaivar has cast her attention from the more mundane matters like corruption (2389 diamonds, 18 emeralds and 9 rubies were found in her house by investigating agencies) and supremely arrogant and autocratic behavior, to more weightier ones like nuclear weapons treaty between India and the U.S.
Using her patented language she has termed the treaty as a "slave charter" (India being the slave country naturally). PTI reports her saying "Indian scientists were doing advanced research on generating power from thorium and were also engaged in plasma research for setting up atomic power plants.In this highly favourable situation, with our scientists engaged in research with patriotic fervour, why is the government going all the way to support efforts of those trying to prevent India from becoming a super power"
