CurrentAffairs: Mallya gives Praful Patel a good time
<-- Wanna Party,Patel?
Page 3 reports from some newspapers suggest that Vijay 'The King of good times' Mallya threw a lavish party for the daughter of Praful Patel, India's civil aviation minister, to celebrate her wedding. By all accounts it was a lavish party with designer food, celebrities and overflowing bubbly.
Not that we are complaining. Make no mistake I woudn't mind attending one of these do's. What bothers me though is that the King of good Times also happens to own his own domestic airline. So throwing a party which by all accounts must have cost tens of lakhs of rupees (or more) for the Civil Aviation ministers daughter, sounds like a definite conflict of interest to me.
The reports claim that Mallya is a 'family friend' of the Patels since ages. Well...we know better! But even if this were true, Patel should have known better than allowing a do, which is a clear violation of the ethical code for a man in his position.
Ethics? Come again?
