Chidambaram kicks the Times of India's butt over unauthorized pictures
The Times of India (TOI) has managed to ruffle the Finance minister P.Chidambaram, no less. It so happened that Mr.Chidambaram decided to have a quiet family evening in a restaurant in Bangalore, when the TOI photographer repeatedly asked for permission to click pictures, which were denied. So when the family was coming out of the restaurant, after their meal, the obstreperous Times of India photojournalist, waiting on the sidelines to capture a picture, started clicking away, regardless. The F.M was upset at this intrusion and in an effort to avoid the photographer, tried to duck/turn right, on the steps of the restaurant. This led to a minor fall and a fracture to the F.M's right toe.
What followed was comic. After the furious F.M dialled some TOI head honchos, the resident editor and the photographer rushed to the hospital and destroyed the pictures before the F.M's very eyes!
Well well, rank hath its privileges. Would the TOI have even considered asking for permission to any other celebrity or have shown such alacrity in destroying the pictures, after the celebrity complained?
